Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Tiifu, an AI compliance assistant for Kenyan small and medium-sized enterprises (“Tiifu”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Tiifu, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Tiifu on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. What Tiifu does

Tiifu detects the KRA tax obligations that apply to your business, drafts filings from the transaction data you provide, generates eTIMS-compliant invoices, and sends deadline reminders. Detection and reminders are available on the Free tier; automated filing drafts, eTIMS invoicing, and the audit pack require a paid subscription.

3. Your account

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the business information you provide (including your KRA PIN, business type, sector, and turnover) and for keeping your login credentials secure. You’re responsible for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis via M-Pesa through our payment processor, Pretium. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are not refundable except where required by law.

5. Not a substitute for professional advice

Tiifu is a tool to help you track and prepare for your tax obligations — it is not a licensed tax advisor, and using it does not create an accountant-client relationship. You remain solely responsible for reviewing any draft filing before submission and for the accuracy and timeliness of your actual filings with KRA. We recommend consulting a licensed tax professional for advice specific to your business.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Tiifu — including attempting to access another business’s data, submitting false business or tax information, reverse-engineering the service, or using Tiifu for any unlawful purpose.

7. Data & privacy

Our collection and use of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using Tiifu and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose a security or legal risk to Tiifu or other users.

9. Limitation of liability

Tiifu is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for penalties, interest, or losses arising from missed deadlines, incorrect filings, or reliance on obligation detection that turns out to be inapplicable to your specific circumstances. Always verify obligations that materially affect your business.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll notify you of material changes before they take effect. Continued use of Tiifu after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
